Viareggio, Italy — March 2026 — Adriatic42 joined the international superyacht community at YARE, held in Viareggio from 11 to 13 March.
As one of the event’s Main Sponsors, Adriatic42 was at the heart of three days of networking, business meetings and industry discussions, connecting with captains, yacht managers, shipyards, suppliers and other professionals from across the global superyacht sector.
YARE 2026 brought together more than 100 superyacht captains and around 150 companies, with approximately 2,600 B2C meetings taking place throughout the event.
The Big Refit Debate
One of the highlights of this year’s YARE Forum was The Big Refit Debate, bringing together experienced captains and senior shipyard representatives for an open discussion about expectations, communication and collaboration during major refit projects.
David Margason, Executive Director of Adriatic42, joined the discussion alongside representatives of Rossinavi, Tecnopool and Lürssen, as well as three superyacht captains. Moderated by Martin Redmayne of The Superyacht Group, the debate explored the different perspectives of shipyards and owners’ teams and the importance of understanding each other’s expectations. The conversation highlighted a fundamental aspect of successful refit projects: better communication leads to better collaboration — and ultimately better refit outcomes.
For Adriatic42, this is particularly relevant to the way the shipyard works with captains, owners’ representatives and project teams, ensuring that technical expertise is matched by clear communication and close coordination throughout every stage of a project.
Building connections beyond the conference
Adriatic42 also supported the YARE Networking Gala Dinner, powered by Adriatic42 and the City of Durban, bringing the international yachting community together in an informal setting and creating further opportunities to connect and exchange ideas.
Beyond the formal programme, YARE provided valuable opportunities to discuss the changing needs of the superyacht fleet, the future of refit and the role of Mediterranean shipyards in supporting increasingly complex projects.
For Adriatic42, the event was an opportunity not only to showcase its capabilities in Montenegro, but also to listen to the industry, strengthen existing relationships and build new connections across the international superyacht community.
